Importance of Mahbubani art in Indian culture
Madhubani art, also known as Mithila painting, plays an important role in Indian culture, as it holds deep cultural, historical, and artistic significance in India.
Madhubani paintings originated in the Mithila region of the state of Bihar. Women created these paintings on the walls of their houses during special occasions. These artworks often depicted Indian gods such as Krishna, Ram, Shiva, etc.
Madhubani art was originally made to pass on stories of the past. Today, it has become a source of livelihood for many.
There are many different styles of Madhubani, such as Bharni, Katchni, etc.
Nowadays, Madhubani art is being promoted as a tool for economic empowerment and women’s self-reliance.
